Cable Beach put on a devastating display against
Port Hedland Rovers in the final of football's Rio Tinto Easter
Cup winning the prize money of $1500. Peter Walters from Hedland
Rovers won the Player of the Carnival award, including two best
on ground performances during the qualifying games.

A highlight of the football carnival was the
Airlink Legends game played as a prelude to the Grand Final. Captained
by Brownlow Medallist Brad Hardie and former West Coast Eagle
premiership player David Hard, the teams thrilled the large crowd
with skilful drop kicks and majestic footwork.
