1995: WEST KIMBERLEY V NTH PILBARA AT THE WACA

There were no senior games played in Broome on Sunday, May 14 due to the Pilbara versus Kimberley match played as a prelude to the Eagles Dockers game at Subiaco Oval. The game played in Perth resulted in a convincing victory for Kimberley 7.8 (50) to Pilbara 6.6. (42).

Best players for the Kimberley side were Fred Murphy, Brendon Cox, Brendan Ahchee, Brendon Watson and Matthew Lawson. Best for the Pilbara side were Walters, B. Taylor and Oxenham.

The game was a step up in class for the majority of Kimberley players, with the team acquitting themselves well. The style of play delivered by the two sides were in stark contrast. Pilbara played a hard-hitting physical game while the Kimberley team delivere a more flowing, running style.
